WEBSITE CHANGES/ UPDATES

    We, at Sumner Tariff Service, Inc are currently in the process of modifying our website to keep up with the changing needs of our clients. Last August we added e-filing of rate request to our website, due the large positive response we are expanding on this system in order to provide our customers with more options. One of the most requested features is almost complete, search options. The searches have been created to help clients with larger tariffs to find their rates more quickly. New Printing Features are under development also. As well as a section to download forms that are often used by our new and existing clients. In our effort to provide a more useful website that is feature rich, please feel free to send us your suggestions.

Printing Services - Currently Under Development

    Sumner Tariff Service, Inc. is in the process of developing printing features so that clients can print full, and partial tariffs at their convenience. A button will be added to each page that will reload the page in a printer friendly format, limited number of graphics and without links. This will create a page that can be printed without wasting lots on ink on unnecessary graphics and links.

    One concern for many clients has been getting a hardcopy of their tariff. Our printing service in the past has been shaky at best. In order to make it possible for clients to print their own tariff, Sumner Tariff Service is adding this option to the website. Clients will be able to load and print their tariff in it's entirety or between selected dates. This will make it possible for clients to get an updated copy on demand. Sumner Tariff Service will still print hardcopy's for clients that prefer this service.

Search Features - Partially Completed

    Search Features have been added for viewing many tariff pages. The searches look for sequences of letters, of example to search for the commodity name: industrial machinery, it is best to enter either industrial or machinery. Entering industrial machinery will limit your search to that exact phrase.

    A new page has been added in the commodities section of our website. It is a tli summery page. Now when a commodity is selected, a tli summery listing loads, displaying 60 tli's at a time. The summery shows tli numbers, rates, origins, destinations, effective dates, and expiration date. The origins and destinations are searchable to make locating a particular rate easy. By selecting the blue tli number you can view the complete current, and previous filings of that tli.

Electronically Filing Rate Requests - Partially Completed

    In August of 2000 Sumner Tariff added the option of sending rate request electronically. There are two options filing via the website or by e-mail. More information about these options can be found on the E-File pages on our website. These two options were added to avoid long distance phone charges, and to eliminate illegible faxes. Faxing your rates to us is still ok, but we would prefer them to be filed electronically. All E-File requests will be confirmed by e-mail at no extra charge to the customer.

    Sumner Tariff is working to add further Electronic Filing options in the future. Sending a Request to modify a rate while customers are viewing their tariff is currently being developed. This option will be added to all TLI detail viewing pages. A link will be added that will direct the customer directly to the web-based filing page and automatically filling out the form for our customers. All that will be required to be filled in by the customer is the tli change and contact information. This addition to the site should speed up the process of changing rates both for Sumner Tariff and the customer.

Downloads Page - Completed

    Sumner Tariff recently completed a download page. This page has on it many of the forms commonly used by customers. If a form is needed chances are that it will be available here. Most of the forms have been converted to a Word format for ease of use. There are also E-mail forms available on this page.
